Kogi L-PRES Coordinator Gets NVMA Nod

The leadership of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Kogi State Chapter, has passed a vote of confidence on the State Project Coordinator of the Kogi Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (Kogi L-PRES), Mr. Otaru Abdulkabir Onoruoyiza, citing his credible leadership and remarkable performance since assuming office.

In an official letter dated June 23, 2025, signed by the NVMA Chairman, Dr. Omotugba Samuel Tolu, and Secretary General, Dr. Musa Gomina Mohammed, the association commended Mr. Otaru’s capacity to steer the affairs of the project towards a productive and impactful trajectory.

“The Executives and the entire members of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Kogi State Chapter, hereby wish to pass a vote of confidence in your ability and capacity to pilot the affairs of the Kogi State L-PRES Project to the desired clime,” the letter stated.

The NVMA noted that the decision followed a professional assessment of the State Project Coordinator’s short but result-driven tenure, during which significant achievements have been recorded and public confidence in the project has been visibly renewed.

“As a stakeholder in this project, the Kogi State Chapter of the NVMA will always be ready to offer the needed professional advice, support and otherwise to ensure the success of the project in the state,” the association assured.

The expression of confidence from the NVMA is coming at a time when the Kogi L-PRES Project is intensifying efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships, enhance veterinary service delivery, and boost value chain performance in the livestock sector.

Mr. Otaru, who assumed office just six months ago, has since championed several interventions aimed at livestock farmer revalidation exercise livestock cluster activation, training and capacity building activity for the livestock farmers, animal health systems improvement, and the promotion of private sector engagement across the state.

The vote of confidence further solidifies the growing institutional support for the project and underscores the strategic role of veterinary professionals in achieving the Project Development Objective (PDO) of L-PRES in Kogi State.
