US Embassy, Lagos Consulate to close Monday for Presidents’ Day

This announcement was made via a post on X by the U.S. diplomatic mission.

The Embassy and Consulate assured the public that regular operations would resume the following day.

“The U.S. Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2025, for Presidents’ Day. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, February 18, 2025,” the mission stated.

Presidents’ Day is observed annually in the U.S. on the third Monday of February to honor the nation’s past and present leaders.

While routine consular services will be unavailable during the closure, essential services will still be accessible through emergency contact channels.

Nigerians planning to seek U.S. visas or consular assistance are encouraged to adjust their plans accordingly.
